Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa is the ideal destination for a relaxing getaway break with your family, a romantic weekend with your partner, or an enjoyable break with friends. It is perfectly situated in the heart of the tranquil Suffolk Countryside and its excellent road links make it an ideal base from which to explore all the best that Suffolk has to offer.
The charming market town of Woodbridge and famous Anglo-Saxon burial ground at Sutton Hoo are both just two miles away, as is the A12 which gives easy access North to Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, and Southwold and the other well known towns along Suffolk’s unspoilt heritage coastline. We also recommend that you head South down the A12 to Dedham and Flatford Mill in the heart of stunning Constable Country.
Ufford Park is situated on the edge of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which is one of Britain's finest landscapes. It covers 150 square miles of countryside, including lowland coastal scenery, wildlife-rich wetlands and the historic Sandlings heaths. AONBs are part of the UK's 'family' of protected areas that includes our National Parks and Heritage Coasts. The Suffolk Coast and Heaths Connect fundraising scheme was launched in 2001 as a way of uniting businesses, their customers and conservation. We are proud to be one of 40 Connect businesses raising money for conservation projects which help to keep the area special.
For the children, there are plenty of activities such as horse and bike riding in the nearby forestry trails, interacting with animals at Easton Farm Park (runner up in the National Farm Attractions Awards 2009), exploring the Castles at Orford and Framlingham, and visiting Buttrums Mill, the 19th Century Wind Mill in Woodbridge.
For those who enjoy military history, our strategic location relative to Europe means that we have a large selection of places of interest, such as Landguard Fort at Felixstowe with its curved seven casemated gun battery, the famous Battle of Britain RAF base at Martlesham Heath, Bawdsey Manor which was the birthplace of Radar, the Cold War Museum at RAF Bentwaters Air Base, and the secret military research facility at Orford Ness.
For something altogether more peaceful, there is nearby Snape Maltings, which is located on the banks of the River Alde. It comprises of a unique collection of Victorian granaries and malthouses housing individual shops, galleries, painting courses, restaurants, a tea shop and, of course, the Concert Hall itself, which plays host to many concerts and recordings made famous by Benjamin Britten.
We also have bicycles available to hire on site and complimentary access to a number of nearby fishing lakes.
Whatever your reason for visiting Ufford Park and the best that Suffolk has to offer, we are confident that you will have a great time at our friendly Hotel, Golf & Spa resort, gateway to Suffolk’s heritage coast.
