Meet the Ufford Team
Ufford Park is a family run business, we have been for years. We've grown and grown; we're not part of a group or owned by a chain. We're a Suffolk business run by a Suffolk family.
Below you can meet some of the team that keep Ufford very much a part of the Suffolk community.
Managing Director - Tarnia Robertson
Tarnia started life at Ufford Park as the Marketing
Director and found that a supposed three days a week job was regularly turning
into five. In the last two years, Tarnia has fully dedicated all
her skills to her new role of Managing Director and is now very much in the
driving seat at Ufford Park. For her part, Tarnia says she is continuing to
learn and grow into the role as MD and is bringing about a “new culture and a
new brand”. Her goal is to continually improve everything the hotel offers.
Hotel Director of Golf - Stuart Robertson
When Stuart Robertson started a part-time job as a golf caddy in the mid-1980's, he had no idea that the game would shape his life both personally and professionally. Little did Stuart know that he would be heading up the hotel's golfing division as director of Golf a quarter of a century later - or that he would meet the woman that one day be his wife, our own Tarnia Robertson! it's clear for everyone to see that almost 25 years after he first walked into Ufford Park, Stuart's passion for golf and the hotel itself shows no sign of abating.
Marketing Manager - Debbie Ratcliffe
Debbie started out working for a live-in care company when she was a teenager as an admin assistant. Like many people her age, she was unsure of the career route which she wanted to take and welcomed any skill-advancing opportunities as they arose. Through her company she started getting interested in IT and through that came her passion for marketing. With the spark of passion lit, her talent was spotted by Ufford Park and she was snapped up to become their Marketing Manager.
PA to MD - Claire Flude
The life of a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director is a hectic one. It’s a whirl of diary organisation, responding to emails, keeping on top of office supplies… the list goes on. That’s certainly the case for Claire, PA to Tarnia Robertson. One thing however that sets these two apart from the norm is that they have known each other for nearly 30 years and get on like a house on fire! She admits that starting work with a long-time friend was a slightly daunting prospect at first, but over two years later she agrees it was the right decision.
Sales Executive - Mark Groves
With experience in fields as varied as nature conservation, recruitment, heritage management and business development, Ufford Park’s Sales Executive, Mark Groves brings a wealth of useful skills to his role. Since joining the team in 2015, Mark has been responsible for identifying new revenue streams and maximising existing income across all areas of the business. Mark is clearly a busy man, extremely committed to his role and driven to make the business a success but he says that Ufford Park and it’s beautiful surroundings offer him the perfect “work-life” balance in return.
So now you've met some of the team who all go by the same values:
Ufford Park's Values are to treat our customers as we would wish to be treated - with respect, honesty and loyalty. We are a family business so we want to continue our own family values throughout the company from the top and all the way down e.g. lead by example - be conscientious, look for the solution not the problem, keep positive and above all, SMILE!
