Ufford Park Newsletter - Spring 2017

Welcome to our newsletter which reaches you as Spring is here and we’re starting to enjoy longer and warmer days. This newsletter brings you up to date with recent developments at Ufford Park Hotel, as well as highlighting seasonal reasons to come and stay. We’ve also included future dates that we think are worth remembering.

Bedroom Refurbishment Programme - Another Great Reason to Come and Stay

A new phase of bedroom refurbishment is now complete, with a further 27 bedrooms and bathrooms being fully modernised, meaning that two thirds of the hotel’s 90 bedrooms will have been refurbished since 2014. It is the latest in a range of measures Tarnia Robertson, Ufford Park’s Managing Director, is taking to ensure that the hotel provides today’s traveller with everything they need for a truly relaxing stay.

New carpets, beds, feature walls, lighting and curtains all contribute to a contemporary style with natural and earthy colour schemes. Additional plug sockets (with USB points) have been installed along with energy-efficient spotlights for better quality, flexible lighting which allows for different modes. This fourth phase of refurbishment also includes new bathrooms with simple white tiling and chrome finishes creating a modern, light and airy look.

Come and stay in one of these newly refurbished rooms for yourself and while you’re here see some of the many tourist attractions in the surrounding area.

The Park Restaurant – Modernised for 21st Century Dining

As well as the bedroom refurbishment programme, we’ve also turned our attention to other areas of the hotel and our Park Restaurant has just undergone a truly transformational make-over.

With its new flooring, upholstery and stunning lighting arrangement, featuring 80 suspended drop lights, our restaurant is somewhere for our guests to relax and enjoy meals prepared using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients. We always welcome members of the public who are not staying in the hotel, and a meal in the Park Restaurant can be the perfect way to end a day spent on our golf course or visiting our spa.

Ufford Park Celebrates its Silver Anniversary – 25 Glorious Years

This year, Ufford Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary and because it’s a special one we are looking forward to celebrating in a number of ways.

Mr and Mrs Aldous, the parents of Ufford Park’s current Managing Director Tarnia Robertson, took over the stalled development of what was to become known as Ufford Park 25 years ago, having previously been involved in house building. Investing their own money into the scheme, together with the support of another local entrepreneur, the Ufford Park hotel opened its doors in April 1992, with improvements and investment having continued over the years. Indeed, the original building has grown beyond recognition, and ongoing investment in the maintenance of the surrounding parkland have ensured the preservation of its natural beauty.

We couldn’t be prouder of the past 25 years, or more grateful to the guests who have visited and whose support has helped us shape what we’ve become.

Look out for our special anniversary rates!

Summertime fun at Ufford Park

Spring is already teasing us with some tentative rays of sunshine. Before long Summer will be back with us and it’s a great time of year to visit Ufford Park. You can come and play golf on our award-winning 18-hole course or play a round at Congo Rapids Lost World, our adventure golf course for players of all ages.

Our bar and restaurant both offer outdoor seating with panoramic views of the 120 acres of parkland surrounding the hotel – there’s nothing that says summertime better than al fresco drinking and dining!

We’re also within easy reach of the beaches at Felixstowe, Aldeburgh and Southwold, we’re just down the road from the National Trust’s Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon burial site and we’re not far from English Heritage castles at Orford and Framlingham. There’s plenty to enjoy all year round but the many outdoor attractions come into their own during the Summer months.
