The Park Bar and Restaurant Manager (Post Reference No: RestManager10/19)

We are looking for an experienced Bar and Restaurant Manager to be part of our strong overall management team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award winning family run establishment based within beautiful surroundings. This role is a full time permanent position, working 42.5 hours per week, working 5 in 7 days. Key Responsibilities of the role:

As The Park Bar and Restaurant Manager your key focus of this role is the operational management and efficient delivery of shifts in The Park Bar and Restaurant. As part of the management team, you will be actively involved in quality assurance, continuous professional development, as well as promoting a positive image of the Hotel and overall services.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Act in the role of Maitre’D whilst working operationally in The Park Bar and Restaurant areas.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a high standard of customer management at all times.
  • Working in collaboration with The Park Food & Beverage Manager, be fully conversant with all restaurant and bar operations, whilst efficiently managing all aspects of operation and delivery across of all shifts.
  • To understand the opening and closing of tables, operation of Open Table, preparing of bills for cash and credit payment, moving tables, splitting tables, database building and management of back of house applications.
  • To communicate with the Head Chef and maintain a close and professional working relationship with the kitchen at all times.
  • Hold a daily/weekly/monthly briefing to ensure all staff are aware of important events.
  • To be actively involved in all staff related issues and to handle them in a professional manner.
  • Work in all areas of the bar including cellar to ensure that best practice is maintained by the team and that any areas requiring improvement may be identified.
  • Be fully conversant with the bar and restaurant POS (point of sale) system.
  • Have a knowledge of all the services the hotel itself has to offer.
  • To effectively communicate with the other departments and colleagues, suppliers and contractors to ensure that all information is communicated to the right addressee.
  • Ensuring the safety of the working environment in the department is maintained.
  • To understand the need for training and development of all individuals and to take a proactive approach in training employees on their responsibilities regarding Fire Safety, Health and Safety and Food Hygiene.
  • Manage allergens & other dietary requirements of customers.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience within a similar Management/Supervisory role within a high quality food service hotel/restaurant is required.
  • A passion for guest service and the ability to manage and motivate your team to ensure excellent services.
  • Food and beverage knowledge, to offer the required service, and develop your team.
  • Excellent organisational, problem- solving, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills and the ability to recognise people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.

Salary: £16,575 per annum

Experience is preferred but not essential, as we provide a full training programme. This role requires the flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • As a member of the Reception Team you will ensure that all guests are checked in and out and looked after in accordance with the high company standards.
  • You will ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times to all guests and visitors both at the reception desk and on the phone making all customers feel welcome and at home.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for completing designated administration tasks during your shift, answering the telephone and dealing with any customer queries. You will also be required to take reservations to a prescribed standard. Cash handling and balancing is also part of the role.
  • To maintain a high standard of customer service, personal hygiene and presentation at all times, being punctual for scheduled shifts and maintaining a good attendance record. A uniform is provided for this role.
  • The position requires shift work to cover 7am until 3pm and 2.30pm until 10.30pm with a mixed shift pattern working 5 days out of 7. You will be expected to have the flexibility to work the required shift pattern which includes weekends and Bank Holidays.

We are looking for Breakfast team members of our strong overall team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award winning family run establishment based within beautiful surroundings. This role is permanent position, working hours are between 6.30am until 10.30am, there will be occasional extensions to the hours depending on business volume, (part time or full time hours available). Position Summary:

As a Breakfast team member you will ensure that all guests are served to the company standard in the restaurant. You will ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas. 

Additionally, you will serve and explain Menu dishes, drinks, and coffees to guests including ingredients and discussing any allergy information.

To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation at all times being punctual for scheduled shifts and maintaining a good attendance record.

The position requires a flexible approach to early morning start and afternoon finish if required, working in all areas across the department. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • To follow established Company Policies and Procedures & maintain company standards in all areas of responsibility with particular emphasis on Customer Services.
  • To be responsible for setting and organising the restaurant in preparation for breakfast service first thing in the morning before the restaurant opens, ensuring all tables are laid according to the company standard, buffet stations are set with the relevant equipment and condiments are available.
  • To be responsible for taking Food and Beverage orders, communicate to the chef’s regarding any special preferences or allergy, collecting food orders from kitchen and serving them to guests in a timely manner. Maintaining the breakfast buffet, replenishing beverages and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the meal service and visit.
  • To adhere to the safe and efficient operating procedures of all department equipment and to report any deficiencies.
  • To be aware of and adhere to applicable hotel rules, regulations, legislation and procedures, national legislation (Health and Safety, COSHH, Data Protection).
  • To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the hotel.
  • To be responsible for your own continuing self-development, attending training as required and appropriate.
  • To undertake other duties appropriate to the post as required.

Planning and Organisation:

  • To be responsible for preparing and setting tables and buffet stations ready for any lunch time functions if required to do so after breakfast service.
  • To ensure the restocking and maintaining of the still area with all the required supplies (e.g. t-bags, coffee, juices, condiments etc.) within the post holders’ sphere of responsibility and this area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To ensure tables are cleared at the end of service and prepare for evening meal setting.

As a Breakfast team member your key focus of this role is the service of breakfast to our guests and customers alike you will be actively involved in quality assurance, continuous professional development as well as promoting a positive image of the Hotel and overall services.
