A Year in the Life of Ufford Park

Multiple hands clinking glassesAt Ufford Park, we always say that time flies when you’re having fun. That said, it’s no surprise that 2018 has snuck up without us even noticing. Given that this is the time to look back and reminisce on the year’s memories, we thought we’d tell you what’s been achieved at Ufford Park during 2017.

Our first thought is always to the experience of our guests. Whatever decisions we make, whether it be regarding new facilities down to a new menu, they’re always made with you in mind. This means that it was a great pleasure for us to be named in the Top 100 Resorts in UK and Ireland by ‘Golf World Magazine’ as well as being shortlisted as the ‘Best Country Spa Retreat’ at the ‘Good Spa Guide Awards 2017. Two very big honours for us.

But we aren’t content on stopping there. We are always looking for new ways to improve our service for you, which is why we’ve invested in making vast bedroom refurbishments, lighting upgrades to the complex, upgrades to the swimming pool facilities as well as extra funds being dedicated to the golf course for a purchase of a new tractor, spikes and bunker changes on the course.

The American-Golf Fitting bay at Ufford Park has been top-to-toe stripped, decorated and refitted. There are now new smarter looking fixtures and fittings in the bay. Shafts, club heads and grips can be put together to tailor a set to the customer’s needs. New 'True Strike' mats have been installed to hit from and Flight Scope technology is available to use to get an accurate reading of club head speed, shot distance, ball flight shape and much more. Call American-Golf direct for more information or to book a custom fitting session on 01394 385651.

A hand teeing up a ballAlongside our achievements as a hotel and spa, we have also been successful in our golfing ambitions! This year the club won its second Tolly Trophy! The team led by Captain Keith Norton faced Bury St Edmunds in a repeat fixture of the 2014 Final but this time at Rookery Park. George Butters, Graham Campbell, Kai Cattermole, Luke Giles, Adam Green, Joe Harvey, Jack Heaney, Mark Jones, Alan McMillan, Steve Neave & Simon Severwright are your Tolly Champions. The morning round saw Bury St Edmunds establish a 3 hole lead, however, the afternoon round was a different story with Ufford Park taking control of the last 3 matches to take the afternoon session by 12 holes and secure an overall victory by 9 holes.

None of this would have been possible without the hard work and full dedication of our wonderful staff team, who have recently welcomed the additions of our new Head of Operations Manager, Max Moussa and Conference and Events Manager, Evangeline Wells. Hopefully, these new staff members can help us achieve even more next year than we did in 2017.

We would like to take time to thank every single one of you that came through our doors, whether it was for a week-long spa break or even just to grab a bite to eat, we thank you all the same. The achievements throughout the year wouldn’t have been possible without you.

From all of the staff here at Ufford Park, we hope you had a very Merry Christmas and we hope to see you again in 2018.
