Family leisure activities in and around Woodbridge this summer

Woodbridge tidemillThere’s so much to do in and around Woodbridge with the family this summer, why not make Ufford Park your base and then explore your options? There are many leisure attractions that are easily accessible from Ufford Park such as Beacon Rally Karts, Easton Farm Park and The Suffolk Punch Trust. Why not head to Framlingham and visit Ed Sheeran’s ‘castle on the hill’ or try the Framlingham Spy Mission Treasure Trail. Close-by in Ipswich, you can take in a film, go Tenpin bowling, visit Christchurch Mansion or go to the Ipswich Transport Museum.

You could even spend the day here! With our ‘Congo Rapids Little Adventurers Day Out’ package you can enjoy a round on Congo Rapids (our 18 hole Adventure Golf Course), have a swim in our pool and enjoy a main meal from the children’s menu for just £15 per child. We even have ponchos in case the unpredictable British Weather takes a turn for the worse! When we say the family, we mean all the family - we’re dog friendly so if you didn’t want to leave your four-legged friend at home then come to us, walk our trim trail and then reward yourselves with a treat in the Park Bar - we even provide a ‘doggie bag’ for those dogs that are staying over night.

Why not stop by for afternoon tea?Afternoon tea tray with cakes and sandwiches

Our afternoon tea menu continues to be a success and from July we’ll be offering a summer afternoon tea for £16.95. We also offer a special children’s afternoon tea for only £9.95, so why not make it one of your summer holiday activities? Our afternoon tea packages do require booking at least 24 hours in advance, but if you want to be more spontaneous, stop by for an Ufford Park Cream Tea instead which is available on the day.

Charge your car while you’re here!

Electric car charging pointIf you have an electric car you can now charge it while you are enjoying our facilities. We have installed electric car charging points in the main car park as part of our continued investment to improving our green footprint. The use of electric cars is rapidly increasing in the UK and represents the future of driving. At Ufford Park, we want to help this movement towards energy aware driving by providing customers that have electric cars, the opportunity to charge their vehicles on the hotel premises. While charging your car, why not pass the time by visiting our driving range, restaurant, bar, gym, spa, or even by playing a game of adventure golf on Congo Rapids?

High Five from… Evangeline Wells, Conferencing and Events Manager:

Tell us about your role at Ufford Park?Evie Wells

As the Conferencing and Events Manager, it is my responsibility to manage and promote Ufford Park’s events, weddings, conference and team building facilities. The hotel can accommodate a variety of events from birthday parties, baby showers, team building events and weddings to stag and hen parties.

What are your goals?

My main goal is to help boost Ufford Park’s reputation as a popular destination for weddings, events and conferences in Suffolk. Part of this is to help the hotel to achieve 3-star VisitEngland Gold status by raising awareness off the hotel’s excellent facilities.

How did you get into events?

I have always had an interest in the hospitality industry and that has evolved into conference and event management. I have worked in various hospitality roles, including wedding management, reservations, and housekeeping. I have a BA Honours degree in Hotel Management and was one of the first graduates of the Edge Hotel School at the University of Essex. I completed my training at Wivenhoe House Hotel, which is run completely by students of the Edge Hotel School. Since graduating in 2014 I have worked in a number of senior roles in hospitality and customer service, working for venues like Wivenhoe House, Gosfield Hall Wedding Venue, Greyfriars Colchester and Greenwoods Hotel and Spa in Billericay.

What is it that you enjoy the most about your job?

I get an immense sense of pride and satisfaction from running events. Seeing an event through from beginning to end and making sure everything runs seamlessly is so rewarding for me. I also love being able to use my creativity, working with both clients and hotel personnel to create exciting event themes and ideas.

We hope to welcome you here soon.
