Ufford Park - Summer 2019
The giant deckchair is out, which only means one thing – summer’s here! We hope we have a glorious summer like last year so that you can enjoy the outdoor activities that we have to offer. But if the unpredictable British weather isn’t on our side there is plenty to do inside the hotel to escape the showers. We’ve got lots to celebrate this month including a promotion and a new addition to the Ufford Park family!
WE HAVE A NEW HOTEL MANAGER!
We are sure you will join us in congratulating Max Moussa on his recent promotion from head of operations to hotel manager. Max joined the Ufford Park Team in July 2017 and has worked with each department to further improve operations and service levels in line with our vision to achieve customer service excellence. Max has been an invaluable asset to us since he joined and will no doubt achieve great things as manager.
Commenting on his promotion Max said; “I joined Ufford Park at a significant point in its history and have been proud to play a role in its development over the past 21 months. During this time there have been significant changes within the hotel including further enhancements to The Park Bar and Restaurant’s new look, the continuation of the room refurbishment programme and being awarded the Quality in Tourism Silver 3-star Accreditation.
“Getting the silver award was a professional goal that held high importance for the hotel and I am proud to have been involved in achieving it. The hotel continues to go from strength-to-strength, and it is due to the great team that we have here. I am thrilled to have been appointed as hotel manager and look forward to the new challenges ahead. In this new role I will continue to work with the team to strive towards achieving excellent customer service in all areas and to enhance our status as a destination location.”
Our giant deck chair is back this year so make sure you take a seat in the sunshine and relax for a few minutes. Be sure to take a selfie in the chair and share your pictures on social media with the hashtag: #uffordpark. The deck chair will be out until the end of October, so you have plenty of time to stop by for your photo opportunity!
Our popular Little Adventurers’ Day Out package will run throughout the summer holidays. Spend the day with us and enjoy a round on Congo Rapids, have a swim in the pool and enjoy a main meal from the children’s menu for just £15 per child.
Alternatively, you could use us as a base to explore some of the many attractions Suffolk boasts like Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo or Pleasurewood Hills amusement park. Pop in for breakfast before you head out and explore or spend the morning out and about, followed by afternoon tea in The Park Restaurant to refuel.
OUR SUMMER AFTERNOON TEA IS BACK
Our afternoon tea menu continues to be a success and from July we will again be offering a summer afternoon tea menu for £19.00. We also offer a special children’s afternoon tea so why not make it one of your summer holiday activities? Our afternoon tea packages do require booking at least 24 hours in advance, but if you want to be more spontaneous, stop by for a cream tea instead which is available on the day.

This month we have a very special High Five as we’d like to introduce you to the new member of the Ufford Park, Douglas the dog! Cockerpoo Douglas is nearly 5 months old and is owned by managing director Tarnia Robertson’s son, Josh.
What is your role and how long have you been doing it at Ufford Park?
I am the Ufford Park pet and joined the team at the beginning of May. My grandmother is Tarnia Robertson and I spend my days snoozing in the chair in her office and greeting her visitors.
What are the most challenging aspects of your job?
When I first came to Ufford Park I wasn’t allowed outside as I had not yet had my injections – this was very challenging! The hotel has so much luscious grass to roll in and I couldn’t go outside and run around at all, it was very frustrating. Now my vaccinations are all done, I can go outside and walk the trim trail with Tarnia at lunchtime.
What do you love about your role?
I love to be around people and I get to mix with so many here. The staff and guests are so friendly and there is always someone around to give me a cuddle or take me for a walk. I also get to make new friends when people pop by for a drink on the terrace with their dogs or when guests bring their dogs to stay in one of our dog friendly rooms. Recently I got to soak up the sun in our giant deck chair which was lots of fun.
What’s the last thing you do before leaving work at the end of the day?
At the end of every day I always like to have a quick walk in the grounds and say goodbye to the team. In the car on the way home Tarnia and I review the events of the day and the lovely people we met. I then have a little snooze as I am usually very tired.
Three words to describe your job?
Fun, exciting, social.
KIDS EAT FREE THIS SUMMER
We know that it is expensive keeping the children entertained in the school holidays. So we have decided to run a special offer where one child under 12 years old can eat a free ‘Monkey Munchies’ main course from the Little Adventurers menu (excludes our BBQ menu on 26th August), when an adult purchases a main course from the bar snack menu valued at £10.95 or over. Available 1st July until 30th August, Monday to Friday, 3pm to 6pm only.
We hope to welcome you here soon.
